The Arrival

The excitement grew more and more as we moved further away from Mexico City, my husband and I had booked a villa in Valle de Bravo and, after weeks of bustling city life, and work commitments, the promise of fresh air and tranquility was irresistible.

Our concierge greeted us kindly. They handed us the keys and gave us a quick tour, I noticed the outdoor pizza oven I had already seen in the pictures, the well-equipped kitchen, and the cozy bedrooms that looked cozier in person. They had even left a welcome basket.

The Stay

The next morning, we woke up to the sound of nature. After a quiet breakfast, we decided to go to the city center, walk through its cobbled streets, and have lunch near the lake and in the afternoons, we relaxed in the cabin taking advantage of the amenities. 

One day, we snuggled up by the fire with a book and tea. Another day, we tried to make pizza with ingredients we picked up at a nearby market. At night, we watched the sunset from the jacuzzi while we relaxed.

When it was time to return to reality I thought about this weekend, more than just a trip; It had been a retreat, a natural sanctuary. The attentive hospitality made the difference, turning a simple rental into a memorable experience.
